I apologize for creating a fairly self-centered thread, but I thought this was worthy of bringing up. My brother was born with Glut-1 Deficiency Syndrome, a metabolic condition that results in seizures, reduced IQ, small head circumference, speech delays, and poor balance. My family is involved in the Glut-1 Deficiency Foundation, which supports research and programs that benefit children with Glut-1; I recently found a search engine that would help provide funding for this organization:

I'm definitely a Google fan as well, but I thought this was worthwhile. And considering how mundane the searches I make typically are, it makes little difference to me.

I'm amazed by the response here-- I've had a much more positive response from strangers online than from people I know personally. Thank you very much!

Theoretically, couldn't one write a script that abused the search. I mean, it would be for good and is only a penny a search, but imagine somebody running a connection that could easily search about once every two seconds. That would be $.30 a minute, $18 an hour, $432 a day.

Any fraudulent searches will get that charity page shut down.
