What is love, it's oft been asked
A fancy or a feeling?
A fleeting, short lived flash
Or two souls at once revealing?
Is love to burn like Juliet
Or softly slightly smoulder
Is love to pine like Penelope
And feel your heart grow colder
Is love an ageless, endless game
Or a pursuit for those still young
Is love a battle to be fought
A sure way to be stung
What is love, it's oft been asked
Is it these things and still more too?
I must confess that I don't know
But I know that I love you
